This project was a community-driven effort, with the support of the Board of Aldermen (now Town Council) and disc golfers from around the Triangle. A tournament was held at the UNC disc golf course to raise money. A successful challenge grant raised more than $9,000. In 2009 the Carrboro Parks Project completed its fundraising for a Disc Golf Course at Anderson Park, and the Course was dedicated in May with a celebratory tournament.
