Carrboro Parks Project (CPP) incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in September of 2001. The purpose of Carrboro Parks Project is to preserve, enhance and expand open space, greenways, parks, recreational and cultural facilities and opportunities that enhance the quality of life in Carrboro.
We have always been a small group of people interested in helping with greenspace and recreational opportunities for folks living in Carrboro. Founding members were Laurie Weakly, Susan Stone, Ingrid and Rob Morris, Diana Gray, Katie Allman, assisted by Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department facilities manager Brendan Moore. As we took on projects, we added the people who wanted these projects into our group to help raise funds.
